"Thanks for a great wedding!"

--Gov. and Mrs. Jim Douglas
Wedding of Matt and Keri Douglas

"Great food, great hospitality, good friends."

--State Senator Jim Jeffords

Right from the opening day in early 1964, The Old Lantern has been a very popular country location for weddings, dances, concerts, banquets, special events and gatherings of all sorts. Today, under new ownership, we invite you to "rediscover" the charm of this rebuilt 1800's barn. With the largest laminated maple dance floor in Vermont, the Old Lantern has seen a lot of dancing: Scottish Highland, line, ballroom, round and square... hundreds and hundreds of beautiful wedding receptions... holiday parties and graduations... as well as successful benefits for fire departments, schools and many other local groups.

Available seven days a week, year 'round, you can plan business meetings, seminars and retreats around the Old Lantern's spacious facilities. Located on five beautifully landscaped acres, The Old Lantern is immediately adjacent to a scenic overlook with views which are among the best in Vermont. Now booking for 2007-08 events, we welcome your call. We'd like to show you around The Old Lantern and discuss your event. We can offer "turn key" affairs, with all arrangements provided or rent you just the hall-- you bring in your favorite band or DJ, etc.

With a capacity of up to 350 people and a full commercial kitchen, The Old Lantern will provide a memorable location for your very special event. Minutes from Burlington and Middlebury, with acres of parking, The Old Lantern is ready for your group. Contact us today!

The Old Lantern will benefit from the expansive knowledge of its chef owner, Roland Gaujac. His background, training and specialties are traditional and provencal cuisine of France. He is a graduate of the Grenoble Hotelry School in France and served as a chef in the Four Seasons Hotel of Newport Beach, California. For eight years following, Chef Roland was a private chef to affluent households and in doing so expanded his knowledge of cuisine by working directly with the great chefs of San Francisco, Los Angeles, Detroit and New York. In addition, he enjoyed unlimited access to all of the latest ethnic cuisine, while developing and maintaining a distinctive cuisine with his own personal style.
